Looking after the graveyards
Volunteers from the Barren Chernobyl Project help look after the graveyards in Gorodische and Cherven orphanages regularly. This year some gravestones were put in place on the cemeteries of both institutions.
It is always unbearably sad when children pass away. It is even sadder and more painful, when children in the institutions pass away. Children, who saw nothing but the walls of the orphanage, and frequently changing carers. Children, who never experienced the love and care of their mothers, the warmth of their homes, the affection of their families. It is awful to realize that many of them were not accompanied by relatives in their final journey. And that no family will ever come to their resting place to bring flowers ...
But, there are people, who care about these children, even when they are no longer in this world. Incredibly cordial residents of a foreign country help to raise money for the grave stones for the children that left for the better place. We thank the people of Ireland for looking after these things as well and R.I.P. all the little angles, you will not be forgotten!
