Great fun in Cherven
It has been a pure delight.
Nothing could make the children living in Cherven children's orphanage happier. For a few days they had a chance to get away from the orphanage and enjoy a lovely company of the two ladies from Ireland - Marie and Julie, who used to organize holidays in Minsk for the children from Gorodische orphanage and who decided to come to Cherven this year to bring some happiness in the life of these children. Their days were busy. In between cinema and pizzeria outings with the older boys and girls, the ladies tried to see as many bed bound children as they could to give love and care to those that never leave the site of the orphanage. The outline of this visit was a special day in town with the big girls in the wheelchairs from unit 3. They got beautifully dressed up, and enjoyed the ice-creams, sweets and drinks in the local park beside the fountains with Julie and Marie. The culmination of the visit was the picnic outside with the older and more able boys and girls: all the sweets and drinks were gone in a blink of an eye, as well as 222 ice-creams that were bought for everyone who could eat them.
Unfortunately this fantastic week is over, but this amazing time will stay in the hearts of the children and our lovely volunteers for a very long time! We say many thanks to the two ladies for the wonderful time and their love and support!
