"This was another lovely holiday that Barren Chernobyl project organized for our Gorodische children, and as always "Dobra Tut" Charity Foundation was happy to welcome our boys and girls in Minsk. We treated as royalties: a very interesting event program, delicious food, excursions, entertainment and wonderful walks around the city. Every day was filled with interesting and memorable events that brought a lot of joy and happiness.
Our stay in Minsk in this festive period started with the amazing trip around the decorated streets and squares of the city. A beautiful Christmas tree, glowing decorations on October Square became the main focus of our long photo session.
Even a metro trip and tasty ice cream - everything was so exciting for the children.
Next day we are all looking forward to the trip to the circus: everyone dressed up beautifully, polished shoes and tuned into the proper mood. And here you go! The show was beyond amazing.
With the greatest enthusiasm our boys and girls watched animals, acrobats and followed closely the main characters’ story line in this New Year's fairy tale.
After the show Alice, Shauna, John and Kristen took everyone to McDonald's. The guys had their big meals and vividly discussed everything they saw at the circus.
A new day brought new impressions, this time we were at the zoo.
They saw so much new: animals and birds from different continents, snakes and insects, different fish! A long walk around the zoo did not bother the children at all. They eagerly took part in the New Year's performance, which took place at the zoo. We danced around the Christmas tree together with Santa Clause, Snow Maiden and fairy-tale characters, sang and danced with the Bear, Wolf and Cat.
The last day of the 2017 year was very memorable for the children, as we did a trip to the cinema to see the 3d film "Ferdinand". A kind and touching story impressed the children immensely and the discussion went on even during the excursion around the night Minsk. The children were happy to see the decorated city, the National Library, the illumination along the avenue.
On January 1, the magician, whom we all know, visited the children with his fantastic show. As always Kostya brought so much fun and games and entertainment for the children and the volunteers. After the show we had a lovely dinner in the Mandarin Cafe with our Irish friends.
The next day the Palace of Culture of the Auto Production Factory presented the play "Masha and the Bear" to the children: the characters performed not only on the stage, but also involved the audience in the action. That was so much fun! And of course after the performance there was a merry dance around the Christmas tree.
The last day is always a bit sad. The children are always very sad to leave Minsk, leave their Irish friends and the workers of the Fund…
We all thank everyone who organized this fabulous week for our children and for bringing so much love to them. We will be happy to see you again in the coming year!

And we hope to keep making children happy and bringing them joy! We thank our volunteers and everyone who helped the fairy tale come true!
