Charity Foundation Dobra Tut, Belarus

Our warmest words of gratitude

Again and again we say thanks to our friends “Nadiozhnye seti” for their regular help that we get on our accounts.

This time your financial support went to Rakov adult asylum – we bought a new washing machine, Gorodische children orphanage got nappies, Stolbsty adult asylum, Kul village – got kitchen equipment and Cherven adult asylum, Yazovki village received syringes and medical gloves.

We genuinely hope our cooperation and friendship will continue in the future.

The Fund also says thanks to Nechaeva Inna for providing some financial support to the Fund.

We are grateful to all people that are not indifferent and who help change the lives of those who are in need for the better. Your help is really priceless and much appreciated.

Andrei Iodo - We say thanks to the Fund and ask for help again

"Our family is endlessly grateful to Charity Fund "Dobra tut" for their priceless help in treatment of our son. Thanks to you we could buy a very expensive medicine "Aktempa" (course of treatment lasts from 6 to 12 months and depends on the health condition of a patient). We say thank you very much to each and one!"

Andrei Iodo's Family

Andrei's treatment goes well due to this expensive medication, but the young man will need another course that will go on until next March that's why we are looking for your help in purchasing the Aktempa drug for Andrei. We thank you very much for your understanding and your kind hearts in advance and believe that together we will help the young man to survive!

Sergei and the men September 2012

Many thanks to the nine volunteers from Roche Pharmaceutical Plant in Ireland for their splendid work in Yazovki Adult Internat as well as tremendous work done on a home for Sergei who formerly lived in Cherven Children’s orphanage. The men did a huge amount of work in the wash areas of the orphanage to improve the wash facilities, showers and toilet areas – plumbing, tiling, plastering etc.

They also took on the job of converting an old wooden house in Cherven town into one suitable for Special Needs boy Sergei. Sergei has been living at home with his relatives for some time now but having a ground floor home will make much life for him. Much work was done in the week and we are all very grateful to the men for their time, work and good will towards these projects. We look forward to seeing them back again – soon! Sergei was very happy to meet all the men – Fergus, Frankie, Joe, John, Gerry, Bernard, Nickie, Timmy and Martin. We all look forward to the house being finished as it is near Sergei’s school which he began to attend this September. Well done!

Very special thanks from the family goes to Burren Chernobyl Project for their tremendous support! Thank you very much to everybody!!!

August and September news

August and the beginning of September have been very productive in both orphanages in Gorodische and in Cherven. Groups of volunteers from Ireland kept coming and spending their time with children and youngsters.

Cherven was happy to welcome Tassa O’Connors’ group for 2 weeks again. The volunteers have done brilliant job with the children, spent a lot of time playing with kids in different units, taught older boys and girls some Irish dancing lessons, spend some time with a family of Pasha - a young lad with spinal injury. They brought him out to Minsk on a day trip.

Also they have brought some toys and clothes from Ireland for the children and adults in Cherven, purchased a DVD for one of the unit and simply had a wonderful time in the orphanage.

Another moment to be mentioned is that for the two weekends at the end of August volunteers of Chernobyl Children’s Trust along with the head Simon Walsh have spent some time in Cherven orphanage for the first time. They have met most of the children, spend some time helping feeding the children in Unit 6, took kids into the multisensory room, spend a lot of time outside playing games and football with older boys and girls. They have also brought some clothes and shoes and toys from Ireland for the children, and also bought an electric kettle for Unit 11.

Gorodische orphanage was also very busy in August.

Worth mentioning that the group of volunteers with Laura Williams and Kathleen Lynch have done a major job in there. They have helped with feeding and changing in Unit 3, did massages and took kids for outings, fed the children yogurts, organized trip to Zhirovichi monastery. Bought craft supplies, clothes, kitchen equipment, a blender, toiletries for big boys and girls, construction material, suits for contest in Poland, some nappies. Organized discoes, played football, gave some guitar lessons. To cut long story short, it was a fabulous time.

We say thank you very very very much for all your precious help and hope to see you again in the future!

We say thanks to Anna!

Charity Fund “Dobra tut” says thank you very much to Anna Trubachova, Anaka Shaposhnikova and Yulia Zholtaya for the things that they have brought to the Fund. Children and adult clothes and shoes and some toys are already gone to Cherven orphanage for children and young adults where they will be distributed throughout kids units and units for young adults.

Thanks a million, ladies, and we hope this is not the last time we cooperate!

Words of gratitude

We would like to thank our dear Belarusian supporters and donators:

Marina who purchased lots of sweets and memory sticks for the children of Gorodische children orphanage.
And “Nadiozhnye seti” company for putting money on the Fund’s account. In the nearest future we will let you know where this money is going to go to. Please follow the new sline.

Big thanks to all and one! Your help is definitely going to its recipients!!!

Very busy schedule

First of all we’d like to apologize for the delay in the news update. It’s been a really busy time.

Now we go back to the chronicles of the latest weeks of July and early weeks of August. Gorodische and Cherven were welcoming several groups of volunteers one with Alan Bedford as a head, another with Rita Oats and some Burren Chernobyl Committee members like Brian O’Sullivan, and Gill Leo’s group.

Alan’s group has spent 2 weeks on Belarus – in Gorodische first, and second in Cherven. Brilliant time, a lot done and more purchased. The volunteers organized trip to Minsk for a group of Cherven children, put money on the account for purchasing cloth – 500 euro – this is major things, but there were lots of simple pleasures every day too in both orphanages! We say thanks a million for all that you have done this summer. It was a fabulous time! Looking forward to seeing you again!!!

The group of volunteers with Rita Oats have spent their time in Gorodische, they have brought specially made wheel chair for one of the girls – Nastya. And sure they brought lots of other things, for the children, and of course lots of pleasant moments. We also say thanks you very much on behalf of all the children!!!

Brian helped to make some new contact for the organization and also purchased some necessary medications for Cherven orphanage. Big thanks!
Gill Leo and her group have just finished their week in Gorodische. They have also been very busy playing with kids, doing music sessions, they have also organized a trip to Niesvizh for some of the children, bought lots of clothes for kids.

This Saturday was also the last day for the two girls Maria and Orla that have spent 7 weeks in Belarus between the 2 children orphanages helping out a lot. It’ll make it a long story to tell what they have done – they have been very busy and did a lot of great things for the children in both orphanages!

The volunteers keep coming and going. This summer has been extremely busy, but it’s brilliant to see so many involved! Love and care and sure all your help are precious to the children. We say thank you very very much from the bottom of our hearts and can’t wait to see you again with us!
P.S. Unfortunately we don’t have all the photographs of the groups so please forgive us for not having all of you in our mini album! We remember everyone and appreciate everyone!!!

Another adventurous holiday week in Minsk

The house in Minsk, known by Irish people as Dom Zara opened its doors for a group of young adults from Cherven orphanage from the 16th up to the 21st . It also welcomed a group of girls, Irish volunteers of the “Roche” pharmaceutical, Co. Clare, Ireland, who came to support this little project.

The week went really well although the time flew so fast. Lots of entertainments: mostly same programme – circus, 3D cinema, Gorky amusement park, night tour of Minsk, observation platform at the National Library, House of Mercy, Hill of Glory, dolphin show, Zoo, discos in the house and a crazy visit of a magician!

Every new group of children and every new group of volunteers is like a new world, new life, new emotions! They fell in love with each other and would never get apart!

Happy faces of the young boys and girls were a very vivid proof that they love their holidays. All the amusement and trips were new to them, were something different from their routine in the orphanage and helped them feel important and like a real adventurer!

We can only say that everybody was very, very happy – the kids, the volunteers and the workers of the Fund. From the bottom of our hearts we say thank you very much to the girls – volunteers of “Roche”, to the Burren Chernobyl Project, who partly sponsored the week, the workers of the “Dobra tut” Fund. And to the kids, you were lovely!!!!!

Looking forward to new meetings next year!

“Roche” + Gorodische children – fabulous week in Minsk

One week is gone in a blink of an eye. One week of joy, full happiness, care, love and devotion. One week for the Gorodische orphanage children and Irish volunteers, “Roche” pharmaceutical, Co.Clare, Ireland. The 4 ladies came all the way from Ireland to look after 8 kids from the orphanage in Belarus and help them to have a real holiday in their life.

They stayed over in a house belonging to Charity Fund “Dobra tut” that is fully equipped to welcome children with special needs. This time there were more or less able boys and girls that had a really unforgettable time.

The money donated for this week came from “Roche” plant and Burren Chernobyl Project. The time was full of amusements, games, impressions and simple pleasures. The children and volunteers have been to different places: House of Mercy, observation platform at the National Library, Gorky amusement park, Victory park boat tour, night tour of Minsk, Liady Monastery for children’s blessing, Childern’s railway, 3D cinema, Zoo, Dolphin show – all of them were very busy having so much fun! Toys, little presents, sweets and of course lots of ice-cream!

The time really flew and saying good bye was so sad! Everyone was crying – kids, volunteers, helper from the orphanage, Funds workers – it was too emotional. But let’s hope it was not the last time.

We thank everyone who made this week for the children possible – the Irish volunteers, our sponsors – “Roche” and Burren Chernobyl Project, the helpers from the orphanage and the workers of the Fund who were taking care of household! Thank you very much! And looking forward to seeing you all again!

There is a special thank you from the orphanage helpers Natalia and Irina and sure the children:

“Our hearts are deeply touched by the hospitality and great kindness, care and warmth of your deepest hearts. The memories about these wonderful sunny summer days spent with you will always stay with us. We thank you for understanding and your attention, your brilliant attitude to our children. Thanks for treating children’s problems as they were yours. Thanks for giving them a chance to see the world in a different way. Thanks for making them smile all the week.

We are so grateful to you for your honorable work. May God bless you and your families, may your lifetime be bright and happy, may your hands do only good and may your hearts be the house of God’s love. “

Attention — kids!

We are welcoming a group of children from Gorodische orphanage from 9th to 14th of July along with volunteers of "Roche" pharmaceutical plant, Ireland, that came via Burren Chernobyl Project. Week of all possible entertainment in Minsk is ahead! So let's start!

Four weeks – too much or too little?

Today is a sad day. Today four Irish girls – volunteers of Burren Chernobyl Project have gone back home to Ireland. They came out at the end of May to Cherven children orphanage for 4 weeks. Is that time enough or not? They can hardly answer the question. Is that too much to spend unforgettable moments with lovely children in the orphanage?

It seemed that there was a lot of time ahead, in a blink of an eye they realized it was time to go back home.
Saying good bye was very hard. The girls have already got used to the routine, and grew so fond of kids. For most of them girls it wasn’t the first time, that’s why the girls were full of ideas how to make most of this time interesting and amusing. Going out to the local park, discoes, cinema and just walking and playing with them outside with bubbles – all made the time fly.
The girls also paid attention to some of the current problems – put money towards medication. They are also planning to cover the cost of couple of doors and windows in the old shower section. But we will talk about it later. Now were are more concerned about sadness after their departure and of course we are all looking forward to next summer when they are coming back to us!

From the bottom of our hearts we thank you very much! Loving you, missing you, and waiting for you!

From June 9 to June 16 the number of Irish volunteers in Cherven children orphanage increased by 2 people – Ronan and Aoife. They brought 3 special pieces of sitting, lots of dressings, some toys. They also managed to repair some of the wheelchairs in Unit 6, review the kids, and visited some of the local community cases in the area also not empty handed. New summer season for Irish volunteers

ВThe volunteer summer 2012 started for both orphanages in Cherven and Gorodische. These orphanages open their doors to new groups of Irish people to come and see the children again.

Cherven orphanage is welcoming a huge group of girls that arrived on the 30th of May. Part of them  is gone home today, tired but happy. During 10 days the girls have done a big job: went to meet all the children in all units. Brought out some stuff from Ireland: closes, toys, some stationary. They have also got lots of medications for the children on 400 euro. The group has also managed to bring 4 units of big boys and girls to the local cinema in Cherven where kids had really good time. The children in chairs have also got a chance to go out into town for ice-cream and a good walk.
